PAPER BASED TESTS
Independent test companies develop
standardized testing programs.
Test scores are used primarily as admission criteria for
undergraduate, graduate, and professional school admissions. Special
testing accommodations for persons with disabilities must be
made directly with the testing company.
ACT
National: The
ACT exam is a national college entrance exam published by
American College Testing. For
test
dates, registration information and costs, and
to register online with a credit card, visit www.act.org.
ACT Residual:
This ACT residual exam is the
institutionally-administered version of the National ACT
Assessment. Results
of the exam are accepted for admission ONLY
on the ASU-Jonesboro campus. To
be eligible to test you must complete an ASU application for
admissions and pay the $15 application fee. To register for the
test, pay $30 at the Cashier's Window, bring the receipt to the
Testing Center and we will register you for a test.
Check-in
for all of the test dates begins at 8:15 a.m. The test will conclude before noon.
Present an acceptable form of identification
(driver's license preferred).
You will want to bring a calculator.

You
must be present for all sections of the test (English, Math,
Reading, and Science Reasoning) to receive a score.
Score reports may be picked up in the ASU Testing Center,
Reng Student Services Center (Student Union), Room 3034, after 3:00 p.m. on the day
following the test.
The scores MUST be picked up in
person and NO scores will be reported over the telephone.
You MUST bring a photo I. D.
when you pick up your test result.

Pharmacy
College Admission Test (PCAT)
The PCAT is the post-graduate school entrance exam for
admission into pharmacy school.
You may pick up Candidate Information Booklets for this test in our
office.

(LSAT)
The
LSAT is a half-day standardized
test required for admission to all 198 Law School Admission
Council member schools.

PRAXIS II:
Subject Assessments/Specialty Area Test/Principles of
Learning and Teaching
Praxis II assessments measure a
teacher candidate’s knowledge of the subjects to be taught, as
well as, general and subject-specific pedagogical skills and
knowledge. The State of Arkansas requires a candidate take and pass The
Praxis Series Principles of Learning and Teaching plus the
appropriate Praxis II Subject Assessment(s) for initial
licensure. ASU
requires all education candidates to take the appropriate Praxis
Series Exams required for certification in Arkansas and report
their results to ASU prior to graduation.
The Praxis II series of exams is NOT available on

The ParaPro Assessment test
assesses qualifications necessary for paraprofessionals serving
in an instructional capacity in the public school system. For

National Counselor’s Exam (NCE)
Passing the NCE for Licensure and Certification is one step
in the process of becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor.
The exam is the property of The National Board for
Certified Counselors, Inc. of Greensboro, NC.
It is a four hour multiple choice format exam.
